1. Where can I mount the transponder?

The transponder should be mounted on the right fork tube of the motorcycle just behind the number plate using the transponder mounting clip.  You should not mount the transponder in any other place.  If you are on an ATV, the transponder should be mounted to a vertical rail on your frame somewhere between the front wheels or near the steering stem.
2. How does the transponder get mounted?

With each transponder, you will get one mounting bracket.  This mounting bracket should be attached to your bike using cable ties.  The transponder fits into the mounting bracket and is held in place with a rubber strap.  This allows you to quickly attach and detach the transponder.
3. Do I need one transponder for each class or bike?

No, one transponder is all you need for one racer.  You may need one mounting bracket for each bike so that you can quickly move the transponder from one bike to the next.  If you race in multiple classes, the scoring system will know who you are based on your transponder ID.
4. Can I use another transponder that I already own?

No, other transponders will not work with this system.  The only transponder that can be detected by the scoring system is the transponder listed on this site.
5. Will it hurt if my transponder gets wet?

No, your transponder can be exposed to water and mud.  You can leave your transponder on when you wash your bike without harming the transponder.
6. When can I purchase my personal transponder?

Personal Transponders will be available for purchase on this site starting March 16, 2009.  The personal transponders will be packaged with accessory items such as a 12 volt auto charger, a 110 volt charger and a transponder mounting bracket.  Trackside currently does not have all these accessory items in stock and will try to make the personal transponder available as soon as possible.
